Amanda Whately, SM
Amanda and her husband of twelve years have four beautiful children. She has birthed in the hospital, home, and a birth center here in Texas. Amanda’s passion for birth came after attending a friend’s homebirth and seeing the peace and serenity that can surround birth when it is left alone. This spurred her on to begin her birth training through Childbirth International as a doula in 2012. Amanda found her calling when she started attending births, quietly supporting each laboring family.
Amanda’s particular passions revolve around nutritional counseling and breastfeeding. She firmly believes that a good birth starts with nutrition and that growing a healthy baby begins right from the start. Amanda would love to spend time talking with you about you and your baby’s dietary needs, whether before or after birth.
Amanda is a second-year student at Beautiful Beginnings and is grateful every day for the opportunity to have hands-on experience as she learns the skills of midwifery. While she is finishing out her training, Amanda is accepting clients under the supervision of a licensed midwife.
